Swinney angers charity bosses over Scottish Child Payment increase warning

The Herald is investigating the scale of child poverty in the country, revealing 80,000 children are now in “very deep poverty”, according to research from the Joseph Rowntree Foundation.

Parents in receipt of benefits like Universal Credit are eligible for the £27.15 a week payment for each child under the age of 16.
